The Blue Mountain Chapter of Oregon Association of Tax Consultants is once again bringing an amazing seminar to the east side of Oregon!

  • Passive activities, at-risk rules, real estate professionals, grouping elections
  • 1065 basis issues
  • 1120S basis issues including Section 351 and Section 357 (basis when forming corporations)
  • Comparison of basis for partnerships vs. S corporations
August 11:
  • Outline of the new 20% business deduction
  • Partner capital account maintenance rules (Section 704(b) & 704(c), Section 736(a) & 736(b))
  • Outline of new partnership audit rules
  • Depreciation recapture, unrecaptured Section 1231 losses
  • Outline of new depreciation rules for bonus and Section 179
  • Tangible property regulations

REMOTE ATTENDANCE IS AVAILABLE

We are willing to broadcast the class across the state to up to 10 groups of people. Check with your local chapter to see whether it is set up to support remote attendance. Cost of registration is the same for both physical and remote attendance, though we can't provide lunch to remote participants.

About the Speaker

Peter Bunce is a Certified Public Accountant based in Bend, Oregon who specializes in complex tax and accounting issues for businesses and individuals. In addition to assisting clients with their compliance needs, Peter advises clients on strategic tax and business planning concepts, as well as assisting them with the preparation of financial statements. 

Peter Bunce, CPAPeter graduated from Oregon State University in 2003 with degrees in Accounting and Finance, and a minor in Forest Products. He began his career in 2003 with a multi-office public accounting firm based in Portland, Oregon and was promoted to Principal after being with the firm for only six years.  Late in 2011, he moved to a smaller firm located in Bend with a goal of continuing to provide excellent service for his existing clients while continuing to build his practice. 
 
Outside of busy season Peter travels throughout the United States lecturing at continuing education seminars on a variety of tax subjects. He has presented to thousands of tax professionals on a variety of topics including year-end tax updates for individuals and businesses, taxation of partnerships and corporations, the Health Care Act, and cancellation of debt, among others. For the 2013-2014 CPE year, he received the Outstanding Discussion Leader award by the AICPA given annually to the top 20 instructors in the country.

In conjunction with teaching, Peter works with the team at the American Institute of CPAs in performing technical reviews of course materials for group study and in-house training seminars. He is an active member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants.
