Chapter Overview
The Jackson County Chapter covers the southwest corner of Oregon state, from Riddle east to Crater Lake, south to the California border, and on the coast from Ophir to Riddle.
We usually meet twice a month at the Black Bear Diner (1150 E. Barnett Rd, Medford) - for lunch and education on the second Tuesday 11:30 - 2:00) and for dinner, business meeting, and education on the last Wednesday (6:00 - 9:00 pm).

40th Annual OATC Convention
June 21-23, 2012

Just How Much CPE Do You Need?
The IRS oversees continuing education requirements for three categories of tax professionals:
- Enrolled Agents: 72 hours every three years (a minimum of 16 hours and 2 hours of ethics per year)
- Enrolled Retirement Plan Agents: 72 hours every three years (
a minimum of 16 hours and 2 hours of ethics per year)
- Registered Tax Return Preparers: 15 hours per year
- 2 hours of ethics
- 3 hours of federal tax law updates
- 10 hours of other federal tax law
All courses
must be obtained from IRS approved CE Providers. The list will be posted
here on the IRS Web site soon.

but may not have the necessary financial resources? There is a scholarship
offered by the Oregon Association of Tax Consultants to help
someone in financial need prepare for and take

The Board of Tax Practitioners often receives calls from consumers asking if we know of a tax preparation business that offers services in languages other than English. The Agency is developing a list of tax preparation businesses that offer such services.
If your business offers tax preparation services in other languages, and you would like to be included on this list, please provide the following information:
- Name of the business
- City the business is located
- Contact person
- Telephone number of business
